  3. A beginner’s mistake is to reduce the frequency of the breath by controlling the breath. There are other systems (HathaYoga and other Eastern Systems) which use control of the breath, but this secular Western system does not.

    The full benefits of meditation can only be realised through rhythmical breathing, natural and uncontrolled.

    Uncontrolled is the key word, here. Observe the breath slowing, without interfering. Allow it to slow at it’s own pace, and use that as a marker of your advancing development.
